Born from the desire to experiment alternative ways compared to the classic Cartesian robots, the K1 delta robot had a long experimentation before becoming a commercial machine. The first experiments of the kinematics were performed with graphic virtualization with OpenGL.
Our first physical tests have taught us to work, train and shape innovative composite materials and some new types of engineering plastics. Making the first delta robots was a great experimentation both from the software and the engineering point of view. This operation has allowed us to acquire skills that would otherwise be difficult to assimilate.
Our way of developing this robot has been multitasking, operating on all levels of design: CAD, software, mechanical and electrotechnical machining.
The work has absorbed us for almost 24 months, at the end of which we can boast of having created one of the most resistant delta robots on the market, supporting up to 40kg on the wrist and stresses difficult to reach by other machines. The mechanism is made of stainless steel, FDA-certified technopolymers, and carbon and kevlar fribes covered with a certifiable epoxy resin for contact with food (similar to that found in food cans) which makes the carbon fiber surface more resistant to impacts.
