The KC1 artificial vision system was born after the development of Kb (modular scale software) and Kc (Pc and modular multipurpose software for weighing, reading bar code, data communication) projects. The KC1 vision systems were born from the experimentation and production of these products.

The original Kb and Kc projects incorporate some primary components, such as the internal relational database based on SQL and C ++, with the creation of "recipes" and "prior user accesses". The system consists of a PC with an Intel processor and high-performance graphics card, fast inputs and outputs USB3, SATA6 and GiGe and modbus system for miniPLC on-board connection. These ports allow fast communications with external devices such as high-speed cameras used by our vision system. With a capacity of 120 frames per second and real-time algorithms processing, thanks to the calculation functions of image matrices made in ANSI C, the most complex processing can be performed in less than 300ms. The updated version of the software is currently being tested, using 100% the power of parallel computing. This implementation allows to perform data processing with a speed of 3 to 7 times higher than the previous version. This means greater accuracy of the results or, at the same accuracy, a higher speed of execution of the work cycles.

The 2014 version software is able to perform the following sandard operations:

- Detection of contours and center of particular planes or 3d scattered in a single plane, stationary or in motion. Up to 50 objects detected every 0.03 seconds

- Detection of contours and barycentre of particular planes or 3d scattered in a single plane, stationary or in motion, with selection based on color, shape or details of the surface (written images or other). Up to 35 objects detected every 0.03 seconds

- Detection of contours and barycenter of particular planes or 3d heavily overlapping, still or moving, with selection based on color, shape or details of the surface (written images or other).

- detection of bar code, QrCode, DataMatrix on every surface and shape (with selective fields of vision).

- Compare pieces with such selection.

- Elaboration of generic images in real time.

 

Many other functions can be implemented on request, the only brake the imagination.
